Diploma de Espanol como Lengua Extranjera
The DELE is the official accreditation of proficiency of Spanish as a foreign
language offered by the Spanish Ministry of Education.
Exams are held twice a year at the Instituto Cervantes in May and November
and a private tutor can tailor a program to enable you to pass with flying
colours.
The diplomas are recognised by official institutions of Spanish-speaking countries and, increasingly, by corporations, chambers of commerce, and educational institutions all around the world.
The examinations can be taken at three levels (see box to right) and all of them test your ability to read, write, speak and understand Spanish:
There are five sections for all three examinations:
• reading comprehension
• written expression
• listening comprehension
• grammar and vocabulary
• oral expression
